Razdrto quarry
The Razdrto quarry is situated along the Ljubljana–Koper regional road, 700 m south of the village of Razdrto. The area of the quarry stretches over the territories of the municipalities of Postojna and Divača.
The quarrying of limestone has been taking place here for a number of years. Because of the exceptionally high quality of the material, its use has been expanding year by year and thereby also its production, which grew from approximately 70,000 m3 / year in the nineteen seventies to approximately 120,000 to 130,000 m3 today.
In 1980 and 1981, a new plant was set up for crushing and sieving the material using a dust collector. In 1991, two steel silos (with a capacity of approximately 150 m3 each) were built for the finest grade fractions. The construction of the silos prevented the dust from spreading to the surrounding areas.
From 1981 to 1988, production took place in two shifts, while it has been scaled back to a single shift since 1989. There are currently 10 employees at the Razdrto quarry (December 2011).
The materials produced at the Razdrto quarry are suitable for asphalts, concretes, mortars and road bases.
